I've not built Ralph Power's 6B4G, but I've owned or repaired all of these at some point.

IMHO the Eico ST70 and Sansui 1000A have the nicest iron of the units you've listed. If the Eico ST70 wasn't so darn ugly it would be one of the most desirable amps around. The iron is very good sounding. I have one on my floor and can't decide if it's worth restoring as the cosmetics are poor.

I've never seen a Sansui 1000A that worked properly without recapping ever one of those darn oil caps. Even then, it's a mediocre receiver at best. The output transformers are well regarded - with good reason.

Both would be very good sources of donor-iron.

The Dynaco ST70 had nice iron, especially in the earlier versions. Probably a pricey solution as they go for significant cost.

I'd place the ST40 and AA-100 at the bottom of your list personally.
