Re: PP EL84 Amp

I may be missing something (it's been a long day...) but the GEC 50W amp is a KT88 design. They did publish a 14w UL EL84 amp that used a EF86 in the front end, then a 12AT7. I can scan and email if you'd like to see that one. I've never heard that amp personally.

FWIW, the Dynaco ST35 is tough to beat as a simple, great sounding EL84. The Fisher SA-100 or Eico HF86 are two others worth looking at. If you need doc's on those contact me directly. I own and have restored all three - all are very nice sounding, in different ways.

Lastly, Shannon Park's has a clone PCB of the ST35 that is very nice, and fairly inexpensive. http://www.diytube.com
