Re: Power cable upgrade for vintage tube amp?

Despite audio-neurotic behavior, most amplifiers don't draw any more current than a "three-way" table lamp. From an purely electrical standpoint, even 20 gauge wire is overkill on a 6' cord feeding most any tube amp you're likely to play with.

Probably the least expensive option is to drive home slow on trash nite with a wire cutters and cut a cord off some curbside appliance.

Alternately pick up an old fashioned 6' extension cord (they come in a wide variety of colors...) and use the cord portion.
