Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

There is a way in

If you look at the locking pin with a magnifier, you will notice that one end is thinner than the other (conical pin).
Place the axle over a strong work surface and hammer down the pin hitting its thin end.
The pin will come off and the contacts can then be moved out of the way.
Remove the lock ring holding the axle in place (I believe that it turns clockwise, not sure, I did this a couple of years ago).
Remove the front knob and front plate (usually 3-4 screws), the resistors are inside the steel chamber.
However I doubt that one can find today better stuff than Daven's hand-wound resistors.
Good luck
Carlos
