Schottky diodes are much quieter than Hexfreds and are available in low voltage, high-current versions, exactly what you need for filaments / heaters.
Digi-Key has lots of Schottky diodes, I suggest that you buy 100V parts that can stand two to three times the filament current.
For example 31DQ10 is a 3A 100V Schottky that sounds super quiet on tube preamps.
