I have had excellent results with Schottky mods on CD players and tube preamps. I have never had a complaint from my friends.
OTOH Hexfreds sound slightly steely as compared to a good tube rectifier.
The 31DQ10 diode is good for 3A / 100V! Plenty of safety margin there, if your tubes need up to 1.8 Amperes.
