Re: Choke Filters, and the Buzz...

Thanks to all for the ideas! As always this group is a wealth of information.

I tried two things tonight, with pretty good results.

First I placed a small felt gasket under the choke to decouple it from the chassis.

Secondly, I added a pair of .22uf caps across the choke and tied the center of the two to ground. This is as suggested by Morgan Jones in his book.

The snubber made the largest difference, with no real change in B+ value.

I'm also impressed that sonically there was a noticeable improvement as well.
