it appears that British tend to favor cathode or self bias in their circuits be it vintage or modern while American manufactures stick to fixed bias. Is that so because of "power and specs" war in the competing market from the early days of Hi-Fi? Personally, of all the PP amps I heard cathode biased ones were usually more musical , but maybe it was just accidental and non related to the biasing method?
