RE: Relocating sockets? Someone suggested to me that to 'rebuild' my LEAK St20s EL34s would be better!

well , my own refurbished St20 sounded less than stellar stock. First fatiguing EL84 amp I heard , quite an achievement.How they got so well regarded (along with Land Rover) is beyond my comprehension .My friend's Glenn Croft modified one was a lot better. I just refinished a pair of TL50+
and it's still a porridge compared to stock ole Mcintosh MC225. I had new Quad II amps revamped by TDP -shoddy Chinese overpriced unreliable crap. British tube amps are way overrated . Their solid state garage production is quite a bit more convincing if not equally overpriced. At least they spare you ridicules American faceplates or pretentious Scandinavian design without sound to follow .
