I tried the first revision with notorious TRiad chokes and 50uF caps on 45 monoblock amps. It was a lot of fun to listen to Klischorn bass bins with altec 803A woofers and 6x13 enlarged throat. I never heard better rocking midbass but it was humming mercilessly so I reverted to original pi. 45 will never be full range amp even if you have 115dB speaker nor do I believe in 2a3 full range . It will have a nice Jazzy bass and it might be exceptionally swinging but it will never hit you like a wave of bass energy in Orchestra Hall.
Yes, as I noted I do demonstrate certain lack of knowledge but over years I heard quite few DIY and commercial amps and not many of them struck me as exceptionally quiet. Not quieter than my miserable attempts . The best amp I heard would be Douglas Pickard (sector7) Magus DHP PP but it also was troubled by noises. Truly magnificent amp though also size wise :)
