John Swenson built a supply along the line described around here as LSES or something like that. He was thorough in his approach technically and he got a musical result he was more than happy with. It's all documented here and I believe his technical grasp as to why it sounded good was well founded.
This would seem to be exactly what you have been asking for and yet when presented with good technical facts and solution, you don't even acknowledge it on the proper level. It did pretty much everything well from what I could gather.
Back in the trenches it is then.
