Of course there's no science ! When being told , no matter what the requirements are , to use 320mH 10 ohm chokes , it obvious what's going on . There is also the issue that over here we use 50Hz mains , use the same chokes no matter what I was told
I built a 'Jeff' style LSES PSU but found the old 'Jeff' style Dr Halijack rule of thumb style PSU sounded better . Better than that was the original choke-input....
One point to note that I found with the so-called LIES/LSES was the very nicely etched mids/top-end . The bass was too lean and not fit for purpose
