Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

If he built it and listened to it,

then of course I am in no position to question his results. If his unit is really "dead silent", then he must have used more filtering than typical for an LSES. The LSESs that I have read about here and as described by Jeff Medwin do leave a bit more ACV noise than one would think would be a good idea in a phono stage. Jeff acknowledges this and says that the noise levels are acceptable in his amplifiers. Perhaps JLH also used some other methods (like CCSs and voltage regulators) to reduce ripple. I would like to see the schematic. We can't have tubes fighting with inductors and capacitors; that would be horrendous. (Just kidding.)
