Eli, greetings. Yup. Stash is good. Long range planning going back 20+ years. Current manufacture has a long way to go to match performance & longevity of so many OS types. I wish some current manufacturer ( JJ Electronics and New Sensor are you listening!?) would put on their thinking caps re a 5AR4/GZ34 that equals OS Mullard or Holland Amperex. Start with GZ34 and then GZ37. My question is if you can build a good retro copy of KT88, EL34, etc why not a good sounding long lasting rectifier? Also, I wonder if the cessation of 845 manufacture at Shuguang has anything to do with availability of thoriated tungsten wire?
