RE: Riken ohm resistors

horny, hi. Maybe it is not a good idea to use the exact same kind of resistor everywhere in an amplifier. Maybe it is better to selectively use resistor types as to purpose. Grid stopper or in series with control grid - precision carbon film. Use higher wattage than you need. A cooler resistor is a quieter resistor. I like 1% precision carbon film and wire wound. The S102 Vishay bulk foil are really something. A mono culture of one resistor type is not a good idea because if the resistor you choose has a little sonic oddity it will be amplified (so to speak) every time audio goes through it. It is a lot like seasoning. A little salt is good. Too much salt... Well, you get the idea. Happy cooking, er, amplifier modding.
