Iczerman, hi. Black Gates do not take kindly to over voltages. Running a 500V BG at 485V is risky business. A better idea would be to series 2 BG to get higher voltage operation. Example: stack up two VK 150uF 350V BG with voltage balancing R to get a final C value of 75uF at 750V. The balancing R go across each cap. With this configuration your composite cap has a safe working voltage. Happy listening.
