violinist3, hi. Even order harmonic distortion. Listening via a good playback system with SET amps might belie asking the question in the first place. Simple 2nd order doesn't seem to harm the music even unto 5%.
Odd order at 0.001 can be plenty obnoxious. All of this fussing about vanishly low orders of distortion brings to mind the distortion wars of the 70's when amp makers used these metrics to sway customers. Obsessing on this topic used to be a prime symtom of Audiophilia Nervosa. The Distorion Wars were coincident with the Watt Wars.
