RE: Back at you-Audiophile E.D. Nunn and Audiophile label

Hey Richard and Group-
The Nunn tapes are quite nice. Audiophile issued about 6 titles in two track format in the late 50s. Muskrat Ramble AP-56 is one title. They are good, but the stereophony sampler is a bit better sounding IMO. Too bad there is only that one cut on the sampler.
I recently purchased the Nunn RF condenser microphones that Ewing used on all of his stereo recordings from 1958-1972. They use a small B&K omni capsule with a tuned RF circuit with the wire included(Fixed length) as part of the circuit. Each power supply has one 12BH7. I tried them on my last orchestral recording during a warmup and found them both to be a little too hissy to use. The sound was heavenly though. I would love to get them both a bit quieter and use them as my main mics. I purchased them from a Pianist/recording engineer who recorded for Nunn in the 60s. There is a great website devoted to Nunn and his life and included are photos that Nunn shot on his 'blad of recording sessions. You can see the mics in some of the pics.

Rich
