Looks like the recording won't be happening in BC after all. I was looking forward to running analog for the first time in ages. I'm finishing up editing and mastering on some orchestral recordings this weekend here in Portland. Just had a comparison of my old AKG 414s with the Pearl tube mics and some Chinese lead based mics. Pretty surprising results. The AKGs are now history. The cheapo Chinese mics were considerably better.
Mic pres are next. Looking for a fat sounding pre to upgrade my Sound Devices built in pres.
