Hi Richard
I am using some custom tube mics using the Milab rectangular capusles in ortf. We might use two independent setups, one with some Neumann mics into the Lyrec and one with my tube mics into the Sound Devices 722.
I generally only use two cardioid mics in ortf for orchestral recording, but will likely need some spot mics for the piano soloist and soprano on this recording. Will watch for proper phasing on this. i check on a phase meter and find that ortf is always positive.
Analog recording sure is expensive, especially at 15 ips. We will use two 12 inch reels for this concert- $ add up quickly :-(
Digital is virtually free by comparison.
What do you use for editing?
Rich
