Brian C. 's Aaaah! Mono fantastico! System IP Address: 82.29.122.201 Last Update: January 25, 2011 at 08:43:03 Amplifier: 'Bluesatron' integrated with 834P-based phono stage and RCA 801/Tribute amorphous-core OPT impedance-converter stage for milliwatts output, sufficient for the TP1. Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None. Speakers: Single Lowther TP-1 Corner Reproducer. Very high efficiency (approaching 50% so 40 milliwatts input is loud enough for me!)

The Ortofon transformer secondaries are connected in series for potent mono output.Other Source(s): Stellavox SP-7 tape recorder with ABR big-reel adaptor and 19cm/s & 38cm/s IEC head blocks. 1957 Bush VHF64 radio in another room and Mono Quad (II + ELS) with Lenco L70 upstairs. Other Accessories/Room/Misc.: Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Single Cat 5 twisted pair for the Lowther.

Room Size (LxWxH): 21ft x 10ft x 8ft Room Comments/Treatments: Lively sounding untreated room particularly suited for jazz.Nice view of the garden from favourite seat. Music Preferences and Comments: Music Used (Genre/Selections): I'm an old jazzer so...
System Goals/Comments: Mono is so much more fun than stereo ever was in this narrow room! System Strengths: Pleasure, sheer pleasure. I particularly love '50s vinyl through the Tannoy 1 mil cartridge.
System Weaknesses: None! I am content with this gorgeous set-up. Meets my needs.
No angst ;o)Video/HT System: None URL Link: http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i83/mapleheds/SimplePleasures.jpg Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Have an interest in a vintage-equipped studio in London. All the best stuff from '50s & '60s Ampex, Studer, Neumann, AKG, Schoeps, Altec etc. Mono a speciality ;o)
