At the end of the day, you can't answer "Which is better?" or "Which is a better deal?". The two speakers are both good, but quite different, and it all depends on what sound you prefer. I listen to a wide range of music and have to tollerate putting them on a bookshelf, so the PSB suited me better because they are front-ported, and more forgiving in positioning.
I think if I listened to a lot of Jazz, or had freedom to position the speakers, the Axioms would have been my first choice.
You shouldn't decide before you listen to each - but it's almost impossible to find a store that carries them both - they don't want dealers to carry the competition! Bring your own music and give them a listen.
