Amps for Jubilees

Tried both the new and newish Blue Circle integrateds, the 022i (125 watts) and 002i (80 watts). The new 002i is available with or without an external power supply, so there are really three options here.

With the 022I, they were meatier and richer sounding. With the stand alone 002I, they were lighter and most romantic. With the 002I and power supply the romanticism had some backbone. The 002i and p.s. struck me as the most interesting and satisfying of the three options but I expect there will be varying opinions on this. Those are the only appropriate amps I have here for the new Cantabs. These speakers don't seem to want or need a lot of power and would probably respond well to push-pull tube amps as well as my solid state gear. Their basic personality is likely to remain pretty constant unless you throw something weird at them!
