They always had a 4 Ohm woofer but I read most of the pass band impedance stays above 6 OHm with some lower dips. If you read Stereophile review of Audio Note speakers which with some parts improvement is almost exact Snell copy you will see the impedance curve. Still , I think it should be rated 6 ohm at best or since it's dipping to ~4 Ohm a 4 ohm speaker. I would not worry about it much and if you use a tube amp try it on both 8 and 4 taps. It's the same with their efficiency ratings. Most manufacturers does that and speaker's impedance varies greatly depending on the model . I also have Snell II's among others and plan to put Audio Note kit drivers/crossovers in the boxes. The cabinet is lovely constructed ,lively particle board type which I "learned" to like.
