As far as I can tell, there are three different iterations of the Quad 12L speakers:

The differences cosmetically are obviously the tweeter baffle surround shape. But what are the differences in terms of sound? Has anyone heard the different versions?
I'm looking for a small monitor speaker to replace my Spendor Preludes. I like a very warm and natural sound a la Quad ESL 57 and Harbeth Monitor 30. Also considering Wharfedale Diamond 10.2 and Wharfedale Diamond 220, but I'm having a hard time getting over the snob factor of the Wharfedale brand name being associated with cheap speakers. Quad, on the other hand, is a name that I love. It all comes down to sound, though. Thanks!
