Heck, every speaker I've heard sounds better with the grill(s) off.
True even when I was younger.
Nature of the beast. Grills may finish the look, but I don't buy
speakers to look at them.
Good for you for yanking them off; cheaper, easier and probably a lot
more satisfying than an upgrade!
