Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

P.S.

"Focus" is a dumb, place-holding word. What I mean to say is that Tocaros do a different thing well than what, for example, Reynauds and Audio Notes do. And this thing -- creating an almost shocking sense of the presence of reality (a cello's cello-ness, a piano's piano-ness) -- distracts us from other things. We come to value this thing that Tocaros do immoderately! To crave it, to need it. That is the addiction. I am curious to see whether I continue to do that. Now that the Tocaros are much further broken in, I can hear immediately when I put on a CD or LP what particular thing these speakers do. Just as I am immediately struck by Audio Note speakers' beauty and Reynauds' body and physicality.
