If you've got $5-6K, you've got $6-8K. I'm not trying to up-sell you, just pointing out that we often put a number in our heads, and then buy something that meets the number but isn't what we'll be happy with.
Ask yourself this: Do you really want to shoot yourself in the foot by buying something that isn't what you want, and then having to live with it for however many years, just to save a grand or two? I guarantee you, two years from now, that $2K will be insignificant in the overall scheme of your finances.
