durufle, while I too appreciate the aesthetic of clean, modern styling, that does not bode well for good sonics. Your floor appears to be reflective so I assume it is something hard surfaced. Then the large window at the first reflection point on the left and the minimum amount of absorptive surfaces seem that they would result in an overly bright and echoey sound. And that flat screen between your speakers cannot help matters.
No speaker can perform well in a poor environment. So I'll offer two suggestions. First, restate your question, asking for ways to improve your room with another post on AA Room Acoustics. Second, buy a copy of Jim Smith's "Get Better Sound".
Then, after improving your listening environment, it will be more productive to reevaluate your speakers.
