I owned the 6.9SM several years ago as well as the Maggie 3.6's. Both gone now and have the Gallo 3.1's.
The 6.9's had nice drivers and innovative enclosure. It was quite accurate but the soundstage was difficult to enjoy. Couldn't quite get a holographic set-up no matter how I position the speakers. I recall that Stereophile once wrote that a round baffle is detrimental to speaker design. The other flaws was that the xover was directly behind the woofer. While the enclosure was inert the face (baffle) was made of wood.
