Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Check output quality first

Have you tried the TV audio out through a stereo to check sound quality befrore you buy speakers? A good picture does not guarantee good audio and many TV's sound terrible.
If it does not sound good, you may want to use the outputs from a cable box instead of the TV and if thats not an option I would aim for soft sounding speakers with a rolled off treble response.
