RE: Listening room floorplan

An interesting floor plan.

From an acoustic point of view, the dimensions of the interconnected space are quite large, the distances between parallel walls vary and the different wall directions and sizes should help break up standing waves.

From a furniture and stereo layout point of view, it looks like a challenge. you have 5 traffic routes in and out of the living area, all of which should remain relatively unobstructed.

With the speakers either side of the french doors, I presume that you have them 3 ft out so that the right hand speaker does not obstruct access to the loft.

Have you tried putting the speakers either side of the fireplace? They would be more out of the way and you could set the couch at 45 deg facing the fireplace (possibly offset so that for solitary listening you would sit at one end).
