I use a pair of Dynaudio Contour 1.3 MkII's in my secondary system, and I've always been impressed by them. Unless things have changed, Dynaudios are generally regarded as well-made with high power-handling capability, not usually very efficient (meaning you need some high quality, high power to make them sing), and fairly neutral with some of the nicest silk-domed tweeters around.
IME, and others', you need to play them somewhat loudly to get the best out of them--they can be bettered for low-level listening. I consider them well-suited to rock. You should definitely look into them. Like I said, I built a second system around mine because I couldn't bear to get rid of them. They strike me as a high-quality product.

P.S. The older Contours were made with a box-in-box construction that most agree positively affected their sound. I'm not sure what Dynaudio lines use this construction style these days, but you should inquire about construction if you look into them.
