Most dealers are in the business to make as much money as they can by convincing their customers to purchase equipment that perform to their expectation, which any good sales person should. The Gallo 3.1's have been reviewd by many as performing beyond the average speaker for the price, this gives the Gallo's an advantage. It even states in their manual that they consider their tweeter to be able to rival those that cost $10k, but that's their own bias opinion.
If a customer is trying to decide on what speakers to purchase out of the multitude of choices in the store, and I was a dealer, I'm going to try my hardest to make sure they audition the higher price speakers to see if it could potentially spark some interest and a purchase. The difference between selling a $5,000 set of speaker and a $3,000 set is $1,000 in my pocket. Most dealers don't exist to sell you the best bang for the buck component, if they did, they probably wouldn't exist for long.
You the customer, on the other hand, is trying to get the best bang for the buck so it is in your best interest that you do your homework and make the comparison. Even if they steer you to more expensive speaker, go ahead and give it a listen, but insist that you want to compare it side by side with Gallo's , then let your ears decide.
