Basically I'm sitting here loving the hell out of these Harbeth Monitor 30s that my friend brought over. My sense is that the SP3/1P is going to be lighter in the bass department than the M30, which is unacceptable. The M30 is smooth, transparent, natural, dynamic, lively, punchy, quick, and sickeningly musical. My only complaint would be the occasional boxy congestion coming from the small cabinet and the lack of deep bass. I wouldn't mind a Spendor that was more colored(darker, richer), but it can't sound smaller than the Monitor 30 and the tweeter can't suck. So I guess I'd be looking at the SP1/2E and the SP2/3E. I'm afraid the SP3/1 is just going to be too small. I can't live with a 6.5" driver....not a chance.
