Analysis Amphitryon Full Range Ribbon Speakers.

In this wonderful hobby/passion of ours, we're all searching and striving to achieve that little bit of sonic heaven. I have finally, after 25 years in this journey, achieved that sonic "HEAVEN." I first heard the Analysis Omegas at Jeff's shop in San Jose California called Audible Arts. I was floored by the sonics of the Omegas. Instantly, I knew that ribbon speakers were the long term speakers for me. Sure I had heard the big Maggies in years past, but they never seemed to have the dynamics of the Omegas. Oh, but the Omegas cost $15,000. The first idea I had was to seek out and audition a nice old pair of Apogee Divas. Same technology, less money..."BRILLIANT." I took a trip to Reno and listened to a pristine pair of Divas in a gentlemens home. They were almonst as impressive as the Analysis Omegas. However, they did require tons of amplification to really make them sing properly, and there were crossover issues that I could detect within the frequency range. None the less, I could have been very happy with the Divas for like.....the rest of my life. The Amphitryons that I heard at Audible Arts took everything to higher level. These are the most "MIND BOGGLING" speakers that I've ever heard. And, I've heard a few. I ordered a pair last week at $24,000 a pair. It's kinda funny.....I consider this big ticket item purchase a long term investment. I take comfort and satisfaction in knowing, this will be the last pair of speakers I will ever own. What a great feeling.
