Re: Original Snells and Audio Note speakers

I have both original AN K's and E II's. I also have the opportunity to hear the AudioNotes a lot.

I've not noticed a lack of body in any of them. Other speakers with a deeper bass range will of course have something extra on low notes and speakers with a hump in the upper bass response will also have more body ion some notes.

You might try experimenting with placement. Both K's and E's can go quite close to walls and corners. Rigid support is also important. It has a large effect on bass and also it seems to me on the rest of the response.

The link below is to a writeup I did in the Snell forum after listening to my K's, AN K's and B&W 805's. All sounded decent to me with the AN K's best. What really surprised me was how much I preferred both K's to the 805's and what a difference the really heavy and rigid AN stands made.

I've never listened A-B to the E II and AN E but will get around to it one day.

David
