Castle monitors as well, but front end is critical

If you can find a set of Castle Richmonds with a front port and want a poor man's 3/5, buy 'em. The newer ones are supposed to be good too, and are between 500 and 600 new.

The poster below who makes the point about front end is right on. Well-designed cheaper speakers show flaws and benefits of poor and good equipment, respectively, in a way that crappy cheap speakers do not. It's worth pairing them with a quality front end.
