Yes they are serious stands, and yes they are filled with sand...and they are very heavy! I have been using Totem Tress speaker cable ever since I heard a demo of the Totem Shamen using the same cable...bought the Tress on the spot!
I've always wanted to try Nordost, and probably will...someday, but I'm very happy with my current set-up.
The Model Ones are true classic, whose design dates back to 1989. In the right room, with the right gear, you may never need another speaker.
