I'm using a pair of Spendor SP-1 speakers which I've been using with a variety of vintage tube amps....all in the neighborhood of 25-30 wpc in a medium sized room. I'm listening to mostly classic rock. I did an A/B test with a pair of my vintage Tannoys and found the Tannoys to sound much more free...lighter on their feet, much more air and effortless presentation. In comparison, though the Spendors are more listenable and easy on the ears....they sound a little congested and boxy. Am I not giving them enough power? What is the claimed efficiency for this speaker?
