He got good results in a 150 square foot bedroom, but in a larger sized room (800 square feet), the Sony got "fairly hot".
I guess for small rooms with no bass reproduction needed in the 20-40HZ range, a Sony reciever would be OK. But that is a long way from the blanket statement that the Sony could drive 99% of bass drivers or subwoofers available.
We won't even get into speakers that can dip below 4 ohms, like many Thiel and Maggie models.Michael
