I have read something similar but different. That for every octave above 1 KHz, the power necessary for the same Db level is - 3 Dbs. And that the 50 / 50 point for power requirement in a system is that 50 % of the necessary power is needed below 300 Hz and that 50 % of the required power is required above 300 Hz.
