I picked up a pair in good condition but without grilles in a garage sale a month ago for $50 canadian but that was a bargain.
You might pay $US250 from a dealer but you might well do better and you should not have to pay that on a private sale.
If he wants to sell them he will get very little selling them to a dealer but might get as much as $200 if he consigns them depending on the local market and of course he has to wait for the money.
At $100 I'd jump on them. At $150 I might buy them and above that I'd really have to like them and have a clear use for them.
That said, I tried my pair briefly before giving them to my son and I thought that they were pretty good. They sounded good when placed well away from the wall so if you have to put them against a wall, that might be a problem. As John said below, expect a warmer sound than your 303's. In particular, I would expect more bass extension and a gentler but less extended treble. I'm pretty sure I would prefer them to the 303's but that may not be how you feel.
Regards
David
