Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

of course not.

No, of course not. ..I'm suggesting that because a product is made with a few dollars worth of materials DOES NOT mean that it should rightly cost a few dollars to buy. There's a whole bunch of other costs that that the selling price must cover other than materials. Such as: developing, manufacturing, marketing, and distributing costs.

Whether or not a product is worth the selling price is for each consumer to decide for themselves. ..If there aren't enough consumers who are willing to pay the "true" cost of a product PLUS the profit that the manufacturer requires, then a product-line will be dropped. Or, if it's a manufacturers only product, the business owners will likely decide to close up shop. This is the basic principle of business - nothing revolutionary here...
