Paully, hi. Warmest, sweetest 2A3? That's a tough call, but consider this. I have many OS & NOS 2A3 varieties on hand including CRC (US Navy RCA made) bi-plates as well as single plate versions and for quite some time the tubes in my 2A3 amp are the JJ 2A3-40. I have not been tempted to change them. Have not tried the TJ so must defer to DocB's opinion on these. I do want to try the TJ 50. Although the JJ is capable of 40 watt plate dissipation there are distinct sonic advantages in treating them as you would OS 2A3. I believe the grid pitch on them is slightly different than the JJ 300B. I have been sourcing mine from Antique Electronic Supply out of Tempe AZ. Lots of dealers have them. Anyway, my two cents. Happy Listening.
