2ch.junky, hi. 2 channel good. 5.1 channel crap. Sorry. It just slipped out. Yes, the JJ Electronics 300B, and 2A3-40 for that matter - just outstanding performance. Well built. Extra rugged glass. Stable bias in fixed bias applications. Superb sonics. Excellent price. I bought my first pair some years ago out of curiosity. All the subsequent pairs purchased - same story. In 2A3 applications the JJ is a outstanding in all the ways the 300B is. I operate them: fixed bias SET 3K load, cathode bias parallel SET 2.1K load, and cathode bias SET 5K load. They are winners in every application. In the 5K amp I can also run Type 50. The JJ 300B give the OS 50's a run for the money. Happy listening! It sounds like you are on the way to some great sound.
