Re: Cary 805AE feedback dial

Gerado, hi, again. I did it, but at the time discussed with Kirk Owens at Cary. He has been gone for some time now. The 805 has power supply electrolytics that have to be discharged to work on the amps safely. If you are not familiar with working with high tension B+, have never picked up a soldering iron before (or the like) get someone to assist you or have someone else do the work. It isn't difficult.
What speakers? At the time it was Altec Model Nineteens, Gillum G3, and Celestion 600. There may have been others. Because of the success I have had in modding a pair of Cary CAD-300SE Signatures built with silver wire wound output transformers my curiosity has been piqued again about the 805. It would be interesting to hear a pair of the AE versions.
