just for the record, there is a sound phenomena aong the same lines but beyond the aural matrix. the ultimate sound experience along these lines. looks like gizmo did not experience it from the bit i've read.when the aural matrix is maximized to a certain point, it transforms itself into another phenomena which i have referred to as a 'sound landscape' or 'sound terrain'. it hits a point where it really becomes a diferent phenomena.
the only image i can give of this is its like parachuting into a 3-dimensional sound space or landscape, kind of like a lunar terrain, where music/sound/instruments are like big boulders all around.
i've only experienced this about 3 times. last time was probably over 6 months ago. not easy to get into, and i hardly ever have an interest to do so. but it does exist, it's there.
you know when you reach the sound terrain. it's obvious. it's an experience unlike any other in audio. not an experience ever to be forgotten.
it's even more of a sound/mind interactional experience (the observer is a factor in the experience (uncertainty principle). can't do it without the mind sliping into it and observing it, just like it takes the mind to open a jar.
you're not going to open a jar without your mind directing you to do so. you may will the opening of the jar, but you are not willing the phenomena of opening of the jar (i.e., the jar, the lid, and opening exist as real things outside of your mind). similarly, you may need certain mind preps to experience the sound terrain, but you are not creating or willing the sound terrain itself. the sound terrain, like the jar,its lid and the phenomena of opening, already exists.
