I had the four mounted to a 3/4 inch thick slab of aluminum, about 14 inches square. The set is heavy enough that the peak value of the sine excitation force of the shakers does not exceed the weight of the assembly. So, I only have to place the unit flat on the granite surface. At full power (except at the aura internal resonance), there is no audible vibration, and the assembly does not try to walk. If you put your ear to the granite, you can hear the entire range.
I'm afraid the 7 ton slab won't fit into my minivan, though..
The physicist guys are also interested in active vibe cancellation in the 10 to 100 hz range within the cryogenic enviro, (the magnet support has a 3 hz resonance, so the final app will have a combo of filtering and active stabilization), so the aura's fit the bill for now..I believe (yet to be confirmed) that they are capable of amplitudes greater than what the slab is currently experiencing due to earth motion and people noises, like trucks, toilets, walking, motors..
Thanks...
Cheers, John
