Visualize a giant Thermos bottle. The cryo chamber has to be very well insulated to allow liquid nitrogen to stay liquid. Actually, these days, the chambers are more likely to be made of stainless steel and Styrofoam than to be evacuated, metallized glass.There is plenty of scientific experience with feeding signals into cryogenic chambers, so construction of such a facility would not require any new inventions. Whether someone wants to pay for the parts and labor is another matter. There is probably a big warehouse somewhere full of abandoned hardware from old NASA- and/or DOE-funded experiments, where something that could be used for this experiment is just gathering dust.
I don't know if running a signal during the treatment would help, hurt, or make no difference, but it certainly would be a valid experiment to try.
